| Partial-band | noise over part of the band | optimal against frequency hoppers: hit the fraction that hurts most |
| Follower | detect the hop and jam that frequency | against hoppers; you have to be faster than the hop rate |
| Reactive / look-through | jam, pause, listen, adapt | saves power; stays effective against adaptive links |
